Hypothesis: a return to basic physiology and biochemistry is key to address the unique challenges in Fontan circulation.
Primary aim: to develop mechanistic approaches to comprehend altered core physiological and biological processes in patients with a Fontan circulation.
Secondary aim: to reveal links between small molecule analytes on biochemistry basis, on transcriptomic and genomic basis that drive Fontan-related comorbidities and circulatory failure.
